I set up RTQ after more than decade of tutoring English language and literature to pupils (aged 7-21), with a particular focus, in recent years, on 11+ preparation.
Over that time I’ve worked with families across London, helping students gain places at the most competitive independent schools in the country, from St. Paul’s Girls’ School to Eton, as well as universities such as Oxford and Cambridge.
In recent years, I’ve also begun to mentor students through my Cicerone Programme – a unique service that helps young people navigate the challenges of the modern world, fortify their confidence and world curiosity, build their cultural knowledge, and enhance their communication style and sense of self. In our fast-changing world, I believe these qualities are just as important as passing exams, if not more so.
Aside from tutoring, I’m also a published novelist (Cloudless, Penguin Fig Tree, 2025) and am the editor of TSS Publishing, a literary journal. I believe in the transformative power of reading and the profound pleasure of creative pursuits taken seriously; I aim to share this joy with all those I work with.
RTQ grew out of my desire to bring my approach to teaching and life to more families — through small, considered group programmes, alongside the rare one-to-one work I continue to take on.
